Safety *

Words I never thought I'd ever say or write: There's a good piece over at Spiked online magazine on the habit of some Chelsea fans of throwing celery on the pitch.

There, said it now!

Btw, some of the fans have already been banned since this article was written last week.

Good stuff but I don't think that tops the 'strange' tradition in U.S. hockey, with Detroit Red Wings' fans, of throwing octopus onto the ice....

John - be fair (for once ;-)), they do have other more important things to say elsewhere in their magazine. But, then again, all that "phone masts are brilliant" stuff that was dominating their site for a few months was getting on my tits!

Marc, again - just checked it out. Those people that started the trend really are enterprising blokes - the more the trend caught on, the more that people would be buying octopi from their shops. Very clever marketing indeed!
