As you know, Rangers have always attracted a good number of narrow-minded religious bigots who think of themselves as fans. Why can't these mindless morons simply appreciate the football?
i might be playing devils advocate her but have Celtic fans never sung pro-ira songs?
just as offensive!
YP - in answer to your question, that would be because it's not just about football. As every city, town and quite a few villages in Scotland have Orange and Masonic Clubs, then it's going to take more than actions at a football game to stamp out sectarianism.
Cookie - Celtic fans have sung pro-IRA songs (and many probably still do). That's not sectarian. And it's going to take more than a little comment on a blog to debate that one. Let's just say for now, pro-IRA doesn't necessarily equate with hating anyone based on their ethnic, cultural or religious background. We can, of course, debate whether the tactics of the IRA were humane, progressive or politically correct, but we're not going to do so here.
