Money Money Money *

Right, the business starts now for the World Cup. Must be said, with only Scotland absent (ha ha), it does look like eight of the strongest footballing nations have got through to the quarter finals, so no real complaints. Feel sorry for Ghana, but pity they cannot shot straight. Felt sorry for Ecuador, cos they played against the luckiest team in the competition. And felt sorry for Switzerland ... err, no I don't, fucking hate all that Swiss neutrality shit (I mean on the football field, btw!).

So I've put a fiver accumulator on Argentina to beat Germany, Italy to beat Ukraine, Portugal to beat England and Brazil to beat France - all need to win in 90 minutes for my bet to win.

If it comes up I'll be like this and JJ and I will have some of this when she visits next week, but, if I lose I'll be like this and we'll be on this.

Portugal beat England? No way dude! That would be like East Stirling beating the mighty Celtic. Just wait till 6pm Saturday and you'll be ripping up your betting slip in anguish thinking, "If only I had taken Mr Pudding's advice!" COME ON ENGLAND!

Trevorland will beat Portugal 3-1.

Beyond that, I wouldn't like to say.

Thought if you lost, you'd be going with the Tennants Super lager (Purple Tin) like your two 'jakey' mates!!!!

Fukt already courtesy of Der Grinsi. Clearly Portugal are a far superior and more skilled team than England, but it's not neccesarily working that way in practice as Spain and Argentina will testify.

I told you not to place that bet...even if it was the 'Portugal' bit of the bet I thought you'd get wrong!

YP - as you know by now, betting slip already ripped up. Fucking Germany ....

darren (who, it must be said, is the most prolific and off the wall, in the nicest possible meaning, World Cup blogger I know) - 3-1? Mm, I do think England will beat Portugal, I put the bet on with hope rather than expectation.

Cookie - easy boy. Don't think he's playing anyway.

marc - I may be joining those two jakeys in the park later. If only I could tell everyone who they are!!

Jim - yes, but one of their more creative players, Deco (who we Celtic fans remember for the way he demolished us in the UEFA Cup final in 2003) is out.

JJ - you did tell. I should carry out your orders more often - it's just that it hurts sometimes!! Tee hee.

Cheers Moo, I wondered what my adoring public (copyright of some other bloggy wanker) thought of them.

One out of three's not bad, on a par with Englands abilities to take Penalty. You would really think that they might have the nous to bloody practice them by now.

I guess also that Cookie Monster must by now REALLY hate Ronaldo.

Jim, it's now obvious that I know fuck all about football!
And, believe it or not, they did practice penalties quite a bit! I didn't necessarily think they were that bad at the penalties, more that the keeper was outstanding.
As for Cookie, tee hee hee hee!

I know nearly as much, my last accumulator was England and France to win and Italy to beat Germany in the Semi.
