Happy Birthday To Me *
This blog is two years old today - hurrah!
And I'll get back to blogging as soon as I can, but, with no computer at my not so newish gaff, it's been difficult.
But I should be blogging about the love of my life JJ and the lovely times we have been spending together, about the best World Cup ever and, err ... that's it!!

Many happy blogging returns! by the way, I love your habit of using song titles for each post. I wish I'd thought of that first. I have now put the Big Blowdown in my blog roll for "easier access" as the actress said to the vicar!
Happy birthday Reidski, how much are you enjoying the World Cup really?
best world cup ever?
erm - happy birthday to the blog.
- Darren
Btw - As a Millwall fan, you will appreciate this.
Up until the USA were finally knocked out of the tournament, the commentators on ESPN and ABC liked to tell us every five minutes that Kasey Keller was apparently the best goalkeeper in the world. ;-)
YP - thanks for the comments. And thanks for the link, much appreciated. As for the actress and vicar scenario - gives me an idea for when JJ comes to visit next week!
Martin - cheers mate. I really am enjoying this World Cup. Of course, I wish England had got put out earlier, but the more they go on, the more pleasurable it will be when they get beat - yes, I'm horrible, bitter and twisted, as the blokes in the pub were saying to me last Sunday afternoon.
Darren - no jokes, best World Cup. The quality of the football and the games have, on the whole, been astounding. And Kasey has always been superb. Of course, he learnt his trade down SE14 way, while also doing a PhD on the sociology of football, if my mind serves me well.
Best world cup ever? Am assuming you avoided Switzerland v Ukraine? And the horrific foul and card-fest that was Portugal v Holland?
Not saying there hasn't been some great footie but in those two instances... urgh.
Lisa - yes, of course, there have been some rubbish games, but, generally speaking, there have been crackers. And the quality of the football is on a different level from previous tournaments. Then again, I could be talking a load of old tripe. So you and Darren should convince me otherwise ...
happy birthday, two years is pretty good going and sounds like you got a little more out of it than most too
Happy birthday -
Arthur and Joe - thanks for that, very kind you both are!
And, Arthur, I got the best thing of all out of it!!
Lisa- How could you not enjoy the card-fest? By far and away the best entertainment so far.
A most happy one to the blog (& yourself, my man)! Were it not for that, the virtual would've never met the real -- it's a funny old world....
Happy Birthday to yer bloggie too!! Thought JJ had killed you off and secretly posting as you so none of us suspected!!..maybe she still is, its a conspiracy I tell you?!
I think I need to lie down
happy blog-day. and heres to another year og blogging. even if your a spanners fan!
Right, this might be the second time my thanks to some folks gets published but that's cos I am a total and utter idiot.
Martin - agreed, that game was fantastic entertainment. And, no, the ref didn't lose it. Well, which of the yellow or red cards wasn't deserved?
Marc, it is a bizarre world we are in. And, for me, the way the interactive world and the virtual world have come together has made for a wonderful time and a wonderful future. And it means that I get to take you to the Den the next time you come over here.
Moo - how could anyone mistake my ranting and raving and foul language for JJ's lovely, kind and caring posts. On the other hand, I may have a horrid alter ego who thinks they live in SE14 (I still cannot accept that I (or Reidski) doesn't live in New Cross anymore) - wow, what a thought!
Cookie - thanks for your lovely words. And so nice that I note you have a hint of a romantic possibility in the air. Hope it works out well.
Just tell Cookie he's a sad pikey!
Well done on two years!
I don't have a home computer, and can't blog at work, apart from in my lunch hour on the public access ones if I book it in time.
It's a struggle, but like you love blogging!
It was the story of your scooter accident that won my heart!
God is it 2 years already? Many Happy Returns etc.
Cheers Fatalist - yes, it is a bloody struggle. And I know full well about the dangers of blogging at work!!
JJ - do the words "seeing to" "you" and "tonight" mean anything to you??
Jim - cheers my man!
Promises, promises ;-)
Hey reidski--
congrats and happy birthday. I spent it at the dentist's sadly, but now I can give you a big smile!
More disappointed than anything by all the commentators trying to "big up" this world cup as though it's been half-way decent. They didn't watch Mexico v Angola, or Ghana trying to shoot, or Thierry Henry mussing his make-up to get Puyol sent off. I suspect you're really only enjoying it because England are still in it but playing shite. When they go out, I bet you'll turn off!!
JJ - you just wait and see (and probably hope also);-))
Thanks John - I really do think it has been up there with the best. Well, come on, last world cup - it was only memorable for the surprise of seeing South Korea and Turkey in the last four. France 98 - France strolled through it and we waited in anticipation for the final which was a huge non-event. USA 94 - Ireland beating Italy the only highlight, the final tedious as fuck and not much else happened. Italy 90 - well, this one might be better than the current one, but, again, too many shite games. Remember England's group and all the severe lack of goals involving Ireland and the others? Mexico 86 - one man won the World Cup with some of the most amazing performances ever seen before or since! Spain 82 - pish! Argentina 78 - mention Iran and you're dicing with death! the whole tournament was shrouded with accusations of bribery to make sure the generals could carry on in charge of the country. West Germany 74 - hardly brilliant football, Netherlands apart! So there we go!
But, yes, I am enjoying how shite England are!!
"But, yes, I am enjoying how shite England are!!"
That's because of those dry German pitches -- really can ruin yer passing game!!! (See: ESPN comments from Paul Robinson)
