Oh dear god.
On the upside, I don't give a toss and I probably won't even notice it happen, cos I don't watch TV, and I listen to Radio 4.
Sir Elton John said, "Oh goodie more sales of candle in the f**king wind,"
"We are honoured that she always referred to Duran Duran as her favourite band as she was certainly our favourite princess."
She's my favourite princess too. She's dead.
TGB - nice to hear from you. I'm afraid to say that we won't be able to be distracted from something like this cos in the run-up and on the day itself, it will be saturation coverage, I'm sure.
Gordon - that one is guaranteed to be number one for weeks come July next year.
John - I don't wish anyone dead, but .........
Yeah - when I heard I immediately thought "oh fuck!"
It will be like Wimbledon, The Queen's Xmas speech, the Queen Mother's funeral,Elton's marriage to David and the Badminton Horse Trials rolled into one - with added crap from Duran Duran and the like.
I'm just hoping and praying that Thatcher pops her clogs that weekend then we can actually have a proper party.
In fact - a party. That's an idea. A "Don't mention Diana's concert" party.
Yee hah!
